Gospel

When I walked down the aisle of the Baptist Church many years ago to “accept Jesus”, I had high hopes. I thought I was about to enter into my soul’s salvation. I expected to be taught great and wondrous things. I expected to have a personal relationship with The Almighty. After all, that was what I had been told to expect by those that I loved and respected. So, I walked down that aisle and repented of my sins and professed that I believed in the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus, who I was taught was God incarnate. I invited him into my heart. I was sincere. I was only thirteen years old and I went before Him with the innocence of a child. I did everything right according to the way that I had been taught. I was baptized a few days later and joined the church. There were a lot of handshakes, words of encouragement, and a few tears.

On the night that I was “saved” the minister had preached a sermon on salvation. He told us about the horrors of hell. He told us of the tremendous joy that came from receiving salvation and how we could never loose that salvation because it was totally a gift from God that we did not nor could we, earn. It was an impressive sermon. My first Sunday as a new church member I heard a very similar sermon. The Sunday after that I again learned about salvation and the next and the next and the next. After a few months I was growing bored of hearing it. I was told that it was now my job to bring others into the fold by having them say the same prayer that I had been told to say. I remember at some point asking myself “is this all there is to it”? Answering that question has been a long journey that has taken many years. The answer is no. That is not all there is to it.

Matthew 24:3 And as He was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately, saying, “Tell us, when will these things happen, and what will be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age?” 4 And Jesus answered and said to them, “See to it that no one misleads you. 5 For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and they will mislead many people. 6 And you will be hearing of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not alarmed, for those things must take place, but that is not yet the end. 7 For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be famines and earthquakes in various places. 8 But all these things are merely the beginning of birth pains. 9 “Then they will hand you over to tribulation and kill you, and you will be hated by all nations because of My name. 10 And at that time many will fall away, and they will betray one another and hate one another. 11 And many false prophets will rise up and mislead many people. 12 And because lawlessness is increased, most people’s love will become cold. 13 But the one who endures to the end is the one who will be saved. 14 This gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all the nations, and then the end will come.

The various churches of the world have carried a gospel of believing in Jesus to the entire earth. There is not a country, a nation or a people that have not had it preached to them. Countless evangelists and missionary endeavors have been sent to every corner of the world. Yet, the end has not come.

In the above passage of scripture there are five things that Yeshua says that I would like to bring to your attention.

First, See that no one misleads you, for many will come in my name and mislead many. Many false prophets will rise up and mislead many people.

Second, Many will fall away, betray and hate each other.

Third, Lawlessness will increase and most people’s love will become cold.

Forth, One must endure to the end to be saved.

Fifth, “THIS” Gospel of the kingdom shall be preached to all the nations and then the end will come.

I will tell you a great secret that the leaders of the “church” don’t want you to know. The gospel they have preached to the world is not the Gospel of the Kingdom of YHWH that Yeshua taught. The gospel that Yeshua taught, “the Gospel of the Kingdom” is not about mere belief in the historical death, burial and resurrection of “Jesus”. It is a gospel that proclaims the kingship of YHVH. A gospel of repentance from breaking YHWH’s law that He Himself gave to us. It is a gospel of loving YHWH with all our heart, Mind and strength and loving our neighbor as ourselves. These are the greatest of the commandments. Yeshua said there are none greater than these. So, how do you love God?

John 14:21 The person who has my commandments and obeys them is the one who loves me. The one who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him and will reveal myself to him.”

Matthew 5:17 “Do not think that I have come to abolish the law or the prophets. I have not come to abolish these things but to fulfill them. 18 I tell you the truth, until heaven and earth pass away not the smallest letter or stroke of a letter will pass from the law until everything takes place. 19 So anyone who breaks one of the least of these commands and teaches others to do so will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever obeys them and teaches others to do so will be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

Matthew 7:21 “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter into the kingdom of heaven – only the one who does the will of my Father in heaven. 22 On that day, many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, didn’t we prophesy in your name, and in your name cast out demons and do many powerful deeds?’ 23 Then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you. Go away from me, you LAWBREAKERS!’

The gospel that you probably heard your whole life is the gospel of false prophets and yes, YHWH allows them as a test to see if you love Him.

Deuteronomy 13:1 Suppose a prophet or one who foretells by dreams should appear among you and show you a sign or wonder, 2 and the sign or wonder should come to pass concerning what he said to you, namely, “Let us follow other gods”—gods whom you have not previously known—“and let us serve them.” 3 You must not listen to the words of that prophet or dreamer, for the Lord your God will be testing you to see if you love him with all your mind and being. 4 You must follow the Lord your God and revere only him; and you must observe his commandments, obey him, serve him, and remain loyal to him. 5 As for that prophet or dreamer, he must be executed because he encouraged rebellion against the Lord your God.

I should have been taught to obey YHWH’s commands. I should have been taught about his sabbaths and Holy days in which we are to meet with Him as his people. I should have. But, instead I was taught the gospel of Paul of Tarsus. A man that abdicated the law of YHVH. A man that self proclaimed to have met the Messiah Yeshua in the wilderness on the road to Damascus.

Matthew 24:24 For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect. 25 Behold, I have told you before. 26 Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the desert; go not forth: behold, he is in the secret chambers; believe it not.

Now I know why I felt there was something lacking after I made every effort to obey the gospel that I was taught. Now you know why the end has not come. The authentic Gospel has not been preached to the whole world.

  1. I agree! It is really hard for people to see that Paul taught a much different gospel than Yehoshua. His is “faith in YEHOSHUA only” – a one pronged gospel. YEHOSHUA’s gospel is two pronged – “Faith in YEHOSHUA” and “Repentance to keep YEHOVAH’S commandments”!!!

  2. My faith seems to boil down to the Ten Commandments plus Jesus. You wrote about most of Christendom going off message but it also seems to me that finding any Saturday group for gentiles that is on message is a challenge. The Hebrew Roots movement seems preoccupied with how to properly celebrate feasts, Messianic Jews mostly are grounded in Jewish ethnicity, spin offs from the old Worldwide Church of God have some funny ideas that they feel strongly about, and the SDAs have their own doctrinal quirks. Yet I suspect a lot of sensible people must be saying their prayers daily, living the faith, and following the Messiah. Are they all unconnected, solitaries? Maybe they belong to other churches and just choose to ignore all the wacky doctrine. Where are they hiding?

    1. My friend, there are many solitary worshippers of YHWH. There are a few online groups that meet. Other than that I know of no church teaching the true gospel, it’s a challenge.
