Can We Agree?

In the days of Yeshua’s ministry there were many who paid only lip-service to His teaching, (as there are today) just to raise their standing in the eyes of the people. While claiming to be his most loyal followers (as they do today), they did the opposite of what Yeshua taught; they judged and condemned, and cast burning words at others while expecting undying respect for themselves; they heaped debt upon the shoulders of the poor, and gathered up riches for themselves while ignoring the cries of those in need; and they poured scorn on the sick as having received their suffering as a judgment from God. But Yeshua` perceived their true hearts, and said to them, ‘Why do you call me “Master”, and yet do nothing that I say?’

That is indeed an excellent question. Perhaps some people do not read or understand his teachings, that is a possibility. Perhaps Yeshua really isn’t their master at all. Perhaps they actually follow someone else’s teachings, that is also a possibility. Have you ever actually thought about whose teachings main stream Christianity is based upon? I have. First, let’s take a look at some of Yeshua’s typical teachings by reading a few passages.

Yeshua said, ‘Everyone who hears my words and puts them into practice, is like a wise person who built a house, digging down deep and laying its foundation in the rock. And the heavy rains came down, the flash-rivers struck, and the winds blew and beat against that house; but it didn’t fall, because it had been founded on solid rock.

Can we agree that the rock represents Yeshua’s teachings?

Matthew 19:16 And behold, one came to him and said, Teacher, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life? 17. And he said unto him, Why askest thou me concerning that which is good? One there is who is good: but if thou wouldest enter into life, keep the commandments. 18. He saith unto him, Which? And Jesus said, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, 19. Honor thy father and mother; and, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. 20. The young man saith unto him, All these things have I observed: what lack I yet? 21. Jesus said unto him, If thou wouldest be perfect, go, sell that which thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, follow me.

Can we agree that Yeshua wants us to obey the commandments and that we are enjoined to follow him (by following his teachings)?

Matthew 5:17. Think not that I came to destroy the law or the prophets: I came not to destroy, but to fulfill. 18. For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass away from the law, till all things be accomplished. 19. Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

Can we agree that since all of the prophecies in the Bible haven’t been fulfilled, that not one stroke of the pen in the Law has been done away with?

Luke 6:46. “Now why do you call Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ and do not do what I say? 47. Everyone who comes to Me and hears My words and acts on them, I will show you whom he is like: 48. he is like a man building a house, who dug deep and laid a foundation on the rock; and when there was a flood, the river burst against that house and yet it could not shake it, because it had been well built. 49. But the one who has heard and has not acted accordingly is like a man who built a house on the ground without a foundation; and the river burst against it and it immediately collapsed, and the ruin of that house was great.”

Can we agree that if one doesn’t build his life and behavior on the Rock that is the teachings of Yeshua that person will come to ruin?

John 5:7. If you remain in Me, and My words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. 8. My Father is glorified by this, that you bear much fruit, and so prove to be My disciples. 9. Just as the Father has loved Me, I also have loved you; remain in My love. 10. If you keep My commandments, you will remain in My love; just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and remain in His love. 11. These things I have spoken to you so that My joy may be in you, and that your joy may be made full. 12. “This is My commandment, that you love one another, just as I have loved you. 13. Greater love has no one than this, that a person will lay down his life for his friends. 14. You are My friends if you do what I command you. 15. No longer do I call you slaves, for the slave does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, because all things that I have heard from My Father I have made known to you.

Can we agree that one has to bear fruit for Yeshua, and continue to obey the commandments. It’s not just a one time prayer but demands that you remain in him?

Matthew 25:31-46 But when the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the angels with Him, then He will sit on His glorious throne. “And all the nations will be gathered before Him; and He will separate them from one another, as the shepherd separates the sheep from the goats; and He will put the sheep on His right, and the goats on the left. “Then the King will say to those on His right, ‘Come, you who are blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. ‘For I was hungry, and you gave Me something to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger, and you invited Me in; naked, and you clothed Me; I was sick, and you visited Me; I was in prison, and you came to Me.’ “Then the righteous will answer Him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry, and feed You, or thirsty, and give You drink? ‘And when did we see You a stranger, and invite You in, or naked, and clothe You? ‘And when did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?’ “And the King will answer and say to them, ‘Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did it to one of these brothers of Mine, even the least of them, you did it to Me.’ “Then He will also say to those on His left, ‘Depart from Me, accursed ones, into the eternal fire which has been prepared for the devil and his angels; for I was hungry, and you gave Me nothing to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave Me nothing to drink; I was a stranger, and you did not invite Me in; naked, and you did not clothe Me; sick, and in prison, and you did not visit Me.’ “Then they themselves also will answer, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry, or thirsty, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not take care of You?’ “Then He will answer them, saying, ‘Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to Me.’ “And these will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.”

Can we agree that we will be judged by both what we have done and what we failed to do? Not, by simple belief in a few facts about Yeshua’s death, burial and resurrection?

Matthew 5:3-10 “Blessed are those who are spiritually needy. The kingdom of heaven belongs to them. Blessed are those who are sad. They will be comforted. Blessed are those who are free of pride. They will be given the earth. Blessed are those who are hungry and thirsty for what is right. They will be filled. Blessed are those who show mercy. They will be shown mercy. Blessed are those whose hearts are pure. They will see God. Blessed are those who make peace. They will be called sons of God. Blessed are those who suffer for doing what is right. The kingdom of heaven belongs to them.

Can we agree that Yeshua taught that we must hunger after righteousness, that we must be humble, that we must be merciful, make peace, and have a pure and loving heart towards others?

Matthew 6:19–21, 24. “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. 20 But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. 21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. … 24 “No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.

Can we agree that the desire for money and the riches of this world are contrary to the teaching’s of Yeshua?

If we consider whose teachings main stream Christianity is built upon, there is only one conclusion, it is not Yeshua. Please go and learn what the real master taught. His sheep will only hear his voice.

If we agree, then we must obey.

  1. They do not seek the truth but trust their preachers, reverends, pastors, and priests to think and decide for them. Do they not know who the Sole Teacher is?
Great job! You give the words of The Prophet which is infinitely wise with your own interpretation which is on point!
